Abbreviated word forms as consequence of communication influenced by English language and Anglo-Saxon corporate identity in the management of German corporations
The management of different German corporations needs to communicate using language for special purposes (LSP) in order to realize specific goals and purposes for the function and production of the whole corporation. The tasks and corporate philosophy of every German corporate management is strongly influenced by the Anglo-Saxon management philosophy and corporate identity. Thereby is the language of German management strongly influenced by the English language that asks for language economy, shortness and reduction. This paper gives the definition of LSP from different aspects, tries to define the LSP used by the management of several German corporations, tries to analyze neologisms which come forward in the corpora and ultimately analyses abbreviated words as a form of neologism in the communication of German corporations. It also analyses reasons for its usage and implementation.
