Eight Years After: Wishful Thinking vs. Facts of Life
The aim of this article is to give an overview of The Project of Early Learning of Foreign Languages that started in Zagreb, Croatia 1991. In the article, different aspects of Project children's language performance are being analyzed during eight years of instruction. The first generation of project children is studied. Although the Project aimed at embracing learning of four foreign languages (English, French, German and Italian), the stress in the present article is on English since the authors have been engaged in observing and analyzing the teaching and learning of English.
