Error Analysis in Writing Skills
The aim of the paper has been to present some findings concerning errors in writing skills made by primary schoolchildren at the age of fourteen. The theoretical part of the paper deals with the development of error analysis and its importance for the teachers who use it as a feeedback information in order to determine the pace of the progress of their learners. Interlanguage, as a fundamental part of the language learning process is discussed here. The second part presents the results of a study done on 28 learners who were asked to retell the story in writing, after they had heard it on tape twice. The study deals with errors that the learners made, their frequency, percentage and explanation. It stresses the importance of identifying these errors in order to get information of learners' accomplishments.
