USING THE ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF ROCKS AND FLUIDS TO IMPROVE ESTIMATES OF CO2 STORAGE CAPACITY IN DEEP SALINE AQUIFERS IN CROATIA
Northern part of Croatia, for the purpose of hydrocarbon exploitation, is the most explored part of the country. Based on the available data, contours and effective capacity of perspective regional aquifers suitable for CO2 storage were reported as a part EU GeoCapacity project. This work presents the results of the further capacity estimations which incorporate pressure buildup, elastic properties of pore space and brine, the final result gives CO2 storage capacities dependent on pressure.
