Minimizing the trawlent bycatch in the adriatic sea
Trawlers bycatch in the eastern Adriatic right now is wery serious problem for Croatian fisheries industry. Bycatch reduction is essential need, not only in improwing catch composition control and better fishing gear selction, as well as in population dinamics of most important species and large marine ecosystem analyses in the earsten Adriatic bycatch make 40 percentage of all trawlers catch, and most abundant fish species in bychach are: Serranus hepatus, Lepidotrigla cavillone, Cepola macrophtalma, Spicara maena and Lepidorhombus whiff-jagonis;most abundant crustaceans are: pPortunus sp.; Munida rugosa, Liocarcinus depurator and most abundant molucsc are Holothuria forskally and Eostichopus regalis. In away to minimization bychach three strategies have been overviewed in this work. The prosper of using a nonconventional nets, more selective gears and different types of fishings boats together with innovative techniqes in fish industry has beyng discussed. Our goals are reducing the trawlent bycatch down to 10 percentage while at the same time to increase the usage percent of brend new selective nets other fishing gears.
