ICT and the new culture of learning/teaching
The teaching of a new, internet generation of students, who have been growing up closely connected to the digital technology, presents a challenge both to educational institutions and to teachers. The paper discusses the potentials of the information and communication technologies as well as the doubts and open questions linked to their use in education. It also questions the appropriateness of the constructivist theoretical framework for the formation of the new culture of learning and teaching based on a contemporary digital technology together with combining the theoretical principles of constructivism with the practice of educational applied technology. The paper puts a special emphasis on the usage of the ICT at the university level by combining standard teaching methods and the digital system for the presentation of teaching contents and for the communication among subjects.
