Induced controlled hypotension for endoresection of choroidal melanoma: a case report
Induced hypotension describes a range of anaesthetic methods and techniques for deliberate lowering of the mean arterial pressure (MAP), with the purpose of the reduction of intraoperative bleeding and insurance of good visibility of surgical field, which can considerably contribute to the successful performance of many complicated surgical procedures. We describe the case of a 45 year old female patient who underwent a surgical resection of choroidal melanoma in induced controlled hypotension, and according to our knowledge, the first one performed in the Republic of Croatia.
