The Interwar Period Industry and Population Growth in Zagreb
During the Period between the Two World Wars Zagreb became the industrial center of Kingdom Yugoslavia. Number of industrial workers increased from 8.000 in 1919 to 20.000 in 1940 as well as a technology and structure in industrial production improved. Analyzing the results of two population censuses, in 1921 and 1931 it is obvious a great population growth on an administrative territory of the city of Zagreb. The tendency of this essay is to analyze the pull factors of industry in Zagreb on a population, to prove an increasing process de-agrarization in Zagreb surrounding and its vice-verse effect on industrial development.
