Roger Boscovich and his Contribution to the Development of Science in the Field of Cartography
In universal scholarly work of Ruđer Bošković, his contribution to the cartography takes very important place. His cartographic work was following from his strong interests in mathematics and its possible application in geosciences, especially in geodesy. In order to determine the figure and size of the Earth, in the period 1750- 1752, Ruđer Bošković accompanied by English Jesuit Christopher Maire conducted expedition to make a survey along the meridian between Rome and Rimini.
