Graham Greene`s Catholicism in The Power and the Glory
Graham Greene was greatly influenced by his Catholic faith ever since he had converted. Consequently, beside suspense and adventure as constant elements in his novels, Catholic religious themes are the driving force of much of his writing and yielded the four major Catholic novels: Brighton Rock (1938), The Power and the Glory (1940), The Heart of the Matter (1948) and The End of the Affair (1951). Recurring themes are discussed, as well as an outline of the religious characteristics in Greene's novels is given.
