APPLICATION OF THE ZETA POTENTIAL FOR SURFACE CHARACTERIZATION OF NATURAL FIBERS

This study represents zeta potential as a method to determine surface properties of two characteristic fibers of natural origin. Both of them are well-known and are by far the largest fiber crop globally. The fiber materials are cotton as a representative for plant fibers based on cellulose and wool as a representative for animal fibers based on protein component. The surface characterization was performed through zeta potential determination based on streaming potential technique.
