Improving Enterprise resource planning process usage with web application built on modular architecture, design patterns and software principles

Every web application development process must start by choosing the right set of tools to be used to design and build a maintainable architecture. This paper attempts to explore and explain the most frequently used design patterns and principles in web application development in order to reduce the time needed to support the development, thus leaving more time for improving the application. By focusing on the issue of implementing ERP systems as a high risk activity authors propose a solution for identified problems in the form of a web application. Although the authors’ primary focus is in the academic perspective of ERP system implementation results are also usable in industry which makes the scientific contribution of this article more valuable. Final result is a fully functional web application that saves time and money, allowing lecturers to concentrate on their work, which is confirmed by the cost benefit analysis.
