N-tert-Butyl-alpha-phenylnitrone improves ex vivo growth of the rat embryo at the air-liquid interface in a chemically defined medium
The impact of N-tert-Butyl-alpha-phenylnitrone (PBN) the spinntrapping agent with the antioxidant activity has been investigated in a serum-free embryo culture model at the air-liquid interface. As PBN improved growth of explants compared to those only in MEM, it seems valuable for reach "the ultimate goal-to eliminate serum and develop effective serum -free or even protein-free or chemically defined media" for regenerative medicine purposes (Jayme and Gruber, 2005).
