Thermodynamic parameters of Cu(II) removal from aqueous solution using waste mould sand
This paper focuses on the removal of Cu (II) ions from aqueous solutions using waste mould sand as alternative adsorbent. In this study, removal of Cu (II) ions was studied by batch adsorption technique. The influence of temperature (293, 333 and 343 K) on the adsorption of Cu (II) ions from aqueous solutions onto waste mould sand was examined. Thermodynamic parameters, such as ΔG°, ΔH°, and ΔS° were calculated using adsorption equilibrium constant. The results indicate that the adsorption of Cu (II) ions on waste mould sand was spontaneous and endothermic.
