During research at the eastern necropolis in ancient Issa, an interesting- and in Croatia's territory, unique- ceramic object was found inside grave 66: a Red-figure fish plate.The article provides a brief review of the application of this pottery form, and the various workshops in which it was produced. Based on the details analysis of the plate from Issa, the proposed date for the plate is the latter half of the fourth century BC, a possible production site, as well as the function of the plate inside Issean burial rites is discussed. A deceased male was interred in grave 66, while the fish plate as a grave good, together with a possible wooden coffin as a grave structure, supplement the picture of burial customs in Issa in the fourth century BC.
