Power consumption at ploughing by a share plough
Ploughing depth, plough construction and eyuipment, work equipment, work method, smoothness of the working surfaces, soil and preceding crop are significant factors of energy consumption at ploughing by a share plough. During the investigation it was determined that resistance to ploughing considerably increases if ploughs are not equipped by coulters i.e. devices for vertically furrow cutting. Power consumption increase at ploughing with one bottom plough without rolling coulter amounts to 31.7 per cent. Increase of power unit ploughing speed by 1 km /ha results in increase of average power consumption of 6.95 per cent. Compaction and soil texture are directly connected to power consumption. Mechanical soil composition is lineary connected to energy consumption. The most soil compaction the higher energy consumption.
