3D FE STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF “3GR”PASSENGER CATAMARAN W.R.T LIFTING LOAD CASE

At the request of the CADCON d.o.o, Pula the structural analysis of the passenger catamaran structure (project marked as „3GR“ PASSENGER CATAMARAN) was analyzed through the direct calculation using the full ship 3D FEM model w.r.t. lifting load case. MAESTRO structural design package has been used [1]. Objective of the present Report is: • to evaluate the structural scantlings of ship structure, intermediate cross-ties and strong beams structure (‘balancin’) w.r.t. lifting load case and to identify critical locations which do not satisfy the yield and buckling criteria. • to calculate forces in parts of the lifting equipment: (a) textile slings, (b) steel rods and (c) steel ropes as basis for the design of equipment by the Client.
