Morphological modification and structuring of interfaces by high intesity laser pulses and their electrochemical properties
High intensity laser pulses can generate high densities of electrons in matter. One technologically important follow-up process is the deterministic multiphoton-electron coupling to dielectric and semiconducting materials and the ablation with minimum heat-affected zones. The morphological modification by high intensity laser pulses were studied at interfaces between silicon crystals and fluids. The dependence of incubation phenomena on the nature of the fluid contact was analysed. A correlation between the interfacial forces and the incubation was determined.
