Influence of Resin Viscosity and Winding Speed on the Mechanical Properties of Composites
Filament winding is a method for the production of reinforced plastic components. The major problem in designing filament-wound structures lies in the variability of the material. Control of reinforcementtomatrix ratio affect final mechanical properties of the finished part. In this paper has been presented the influence factors (winding speed and wetting way of roving filament from the wetting roll till they reach squeeze rolls) of impregnation of reinforcement by matrix during the filament winding fabrication procedure. For the investigation was chosen epoxy resin as matrix and two types of glass fibers as reinforcing material.
