ANALYSIS OF ANTERIOR AND PROFILE FACE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR EVALUATION OF CERTAIN PARAMETERS IN RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

The esthetic value of prosthetic work is mainly subjected to the individual es- timation and certain factors are responsible for the visual evaluation of the final result. The aim of this investigation was to find out the most influenced parameters of facial esthetics which could be used to develop the criteria for comprehensive oral rehabilitation in patients with disturbed occlusal rela- tions. A seria of clinical photographs was made for the measurement and evaluation of parameters relevant in a dental application - symmetry, anterior esthetics, smile, dominant position of the maxillary central incisors, propor- tion with the face, dentolabial relationships. The need for the better and more documented methodical approach in the selection of esthetic and clinical guides in dentistry is eseential for the improved communication with the pa- tient, to fulfill his or her expectations and to transfere these parameters to the design and technical realisationof the restoration.
