Overhaul plan optimization in the Maintenance information System “MIMS”

This paper presents an original model for overhaul planning “UPROB” which is used in the maintenance information system “MIMS”. This model was developed at the School of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod, Croatia as a result of a twenty-year long research of the problem of overhaul planning and monitoring. This model is applied in process industry (reactor type vessels and similar vessels of high class) and in nuclear plants. When compared to other available software systems for overhaul planning, the “UPROB” system is capable of: checking for subject availability, creating a supply plan (automatic vendor contacting option, selecting the optimal package, and similar issues), creating plan variations based on the subject availability, creating plan modifications according to realization results, and many more functions.
