Halal Quality Certification
As the quality and safety of food products in ever more important to consumers, so stringent demands are set before the quality and safety of its products. In today´s world there are numerous standards and norms established through whose implementation and confirmation bodies, authorized for that purpose, demonstrate quality to consumers. Another demand with an ever-greater presence in the food industry is the halal standard, which has an ever-greater part to play an international level, because its implementation opens up a market estimated to be worth USD 635 bn. The halal standard establishes requirements that must be met, and measures that must be undertaken, to ensure the conditions for certification of halal quality. Halal quality represents the totality of characteristics of products or services that conform to Islamic regulations and comply with attributes of quality, and are as such permissible to food consumers of Islamic confession, for their use and consumption. Therefore the aim of this paper is to show why and how to implement the requirements of halal quality.
