Game Theory and Requirements of Complexity

Chapter emphasizes the application of game theory models for dealing with lower level complexity, but including situations with live mutually interacting opponents. Acting in defined situations players try to ensure best possible outcomes for themselves. Game theory as a discipline which deals with interactive decision-making is of particular value since it does not make approximation by isolating the decision making process as ‘undisturbed’. Final decisions are not just a question of perception, free will and interests of a single individual. Concepts of resolving a game, finding a steady state, i.e. best payouts for players, represent a valuable analysis procedure in the treatment of strategic situations. In several examples we show how even in daily decision-making individuals consciously or unconsciously apply procedures such as eliminating of dominating strategies.
