Some Researches of Contact Pressure in Non-Involute Toothing With Harmonic Basic Profile
The standard gears with involute toothing has excessive contact pressure between gear tooth tip and pinion tooth dedendum, which can be reason for intolerable local wear and surfaces destruction. To avoid this disadvantage a special non-involute toothing with harmonic basic profile is proposed. That toothing has the convex-concave contact at the beginning and end of meshing path. This assures the notable reduction of contact pressure on these points, and significantly enlarges carrying capacity in comparison to involute toothing. The results of performed calculations are verified by measurements on the photo-elastic model in real meshing conditions. Very good correlation between theoretical and experimental results is obtained.
