MOBILE RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN IN CROATIAN HOTEL INDUSTRY

In the last few years the development of mobile device technology has influenced and changed the forms of advertising in general terms. An increasing number of smartphone and tablet users have contributed to development of new global marketing challenges. The number of users accessing the Internet through a mobile device is growing ; mobile searches have grown by 400% since 2010. As the most significant medium of today, Internet offers some entirely new possibilities to business entities through use of mobile Internet. The development of mobile Internet created prerequisites for the development of mobile responsive web sites - sites designed for the small screen, with the needs of mobile users in mind. A mobile-friendly site can help business connect with customers and drive conversions. Predictions are that by 2013 more people will use mobile phones than PCs to search the Internet. Users who access the Web site through smartphone or tablet device expect their mobile experience to be as good as their desktop experience. The primary objective of this paper is research and analysis of hotel Web sites for mobile devices. The aim of the paper is to give an overview of mobile responsive Web design that allows the hotel industry to access the technology that is used by millions of users.
