Speleological Research aid in the Understanding of the Hydrogeology of the Dinaric Karst in Croatia
Croatia has so far known about 11500 different caves and pits. Approximately 35% of them have an ever-present ground water. Knowing the amount, direction and quality of groundwater that has been discovered in caves in the Croatian karst it is possible with greater certainty assume hydrogeological situation of of some karst areas where they are not performed a special drilling or measurements in boreholes. Especially help speleo diving siphon inside caves or cave diving as in karst springs. Such examples there are hundreds especially in Kordun, Lika, Gorski Kotar, Istria and Dalmatia.
