Expression of pthrp and PTHR/pthrp receptor 1 in the superior cervical ganglia of rats
Parathyroid-related protein (pthrp) and its receptor PTHR are found in CNS and peripheral nervous system. Although is known that pthrp/PTHR system is influenced by ovarian hormones in different tissues, it is not known whether these factors have similar effect on expression of pthrp and PTHR in nervous system. The aim of the study was to investigate a presence and distribution of pthrp and PTHR in neurons and glia of the SCG of rats, as well as an influence of the ovariectomy on their expression.
