The impact of the introducting the system for informing drivers about traffic conditions through high technology
The idea and purpose of this article is informing the driver via Mobile messaging software, or in interaction with the GPRS connection about current traffic conditions. The user should own a mobile phone or PDA with installed software through which is subscribed to a specific service, after which the system in specific time intervals or on demand send messages about the traffic conditions on the specific road. Technology in terms of mobile device must have an internal or external GPS module through which it collects GPS coordinates and then sends them to the server. Applications would support sending the GPS coordinates via GSM or GPRS messages depending on requirements, capabilities and needs of subscribers. Server would be connected by a direct logical link from the site of all major bodies in the country in charge of traffic of which would be collecting data and analyzing them after sorting and sending them to users. The driver could be informed about the works on the road, the position of police control, accident, crowd, traffic, dangerous places in the traffic and other relevant information that can be useful for the driver. It is necessary to allow users to sign a subscription to the service through the existing system of subscriptions (m-pay, various electronic cards, coupons, etc.) for a certain time period in which the service would be available. It would be necessary to consider and investigate packages for subscriptions, taking into account all types of drivers to those who need service periodically and to those who need services every day in order to create subscriptions that would meet all the drivers and legal persons who possess more than one vehicle. System is scheduled for road traffic but if proven it can be expanded in the future to other types of traffic.
