Hematology parameters in dogs treated with subconjunctival application of limbal stem cells allografts
Cornea, as a source for obtaining stem cells, is a good medium for their use in veterinary ophthalmology. In this research, we used dogs which were diagnosed extensive, chronic thinning of the central cornea (vertex corneae) generated due to mechanical damage of the corneae pannosa complicated. The goal of this study was to test if subconjuctival application of limbal stem cells allografts had influence on hematology parameters in peripheral blood.Animals were divided in three experimental group regardless of breed, sex and age, each group comprised 7 dogs. Group A consists of clinically healthy dogs (control), in group B were dogs who had injuries treated by conventional ophtalmological approach in veterinary medicine, and group C in which corneal injury were treated using subconjuctival cell allograft. Blood samples were taken four times during the experiment from all animals for hematological analysis. Transplantation of limbal stem cells allografts did not affected physiological hematology parameters
