The aim of the study was to determine ulcer healing and relapse during 12 months after three therapeutic protocols used in three groups of patients (group 1 receiwed pantoprazole, grpup 2 received pantoprazole, amoxicillin, metronidazole, sucralfate, group 3 received amoxicilinm metronidazole and sucralfate)in duodenal ulcer patients. In conclusion, suppression of acid secretion alone allowed for successfull duodenal ulcer healing, but relapse of the disease depended on Hemocobacter pylori eradication.
