The implementation of the FRISC processor and its peripheral units in FPGA technology
This paper describes the implementation of FRISC processor and its peripheral units in VHDL. It gives an overview of tools, technologies and equipment used during work on the project. It briefly describes development process as well as the processor architecture. Implementation of external units: DMA, RTC, LCD and GPIO is described in detail. Furthermore, the procedures for testing processor components and entire system are also described. At the end an example is given of the FRISC processor use in a system which simulates the function of an AC unit.
