Krbava - historical region in Eastern Lika
Krbava is one of the five major geographic parts of Lika - a large karst basin nestled between the mountains of Velebit, Kapela and Plješevica. Krbava spreads along geographically diverse eastern parts of Lika: from the Plitvice lakes on the north to the Gračac polje on the south. Plješevica is its eastern border, and it extends towards the slopes of Sredogorje, Gacka and Central Lika on the west. Krbava polje is the largest karst polje in this part of the basin, and also the traditional living hub of this sparsely populated area. The biggest and most populated town in Krbava is Korenica (pop. 1570, 2001.)
