God, Nothing, and Purposeful Universe
In this article, I examine two general objections to the design argument for the existence of God, made by Ayer and Russell, and show that they can be rebutted: I show that universe can have a purpose for a limited period of time and that we can make sense of the existence of God outside time. I also consider some philosophical implications which possibly follow from the physical cosmological theory that universe popped out from „nothing“ and I show that cosmological arguments for the existence of God can be appropriately applied to this cosmological theory. At the end of the article, I briefly examine some consequences for those who accept the ontological argument for the existence of God.
