Influence of Solar and Wind Power Generation Sources on Power Supply Availability in Telecom Infrastructure

This paper addresses reliability and availability of power infrastructure in telecom core and data centers. Special attention is given to modelling of solar and wind power sources in terms of availability as well as their implementation into critical infrastructure. Influence on overall electrical reliability and availability of infrastructure is shown in different topologies. Architecture of the topologies is based on both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) 400V distributions. Results of reliability and availability calculations derive from models based on dynamic Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
