The situation study of elite Croatian rowers
The purpose of the study was to compare the basic antropometric characteristics, spyroergometric test results, and parameters of anaerobic treshold of elite Croatian rowers in the pre-olimpic games and post-olimpic games period in the situational conditions on lake Peruca and collated to available bibliographic data. Metdods. The elite Croatian rowers were four participants in the Athens Olimpics, aged from 26 to 33. The following variables have been measured: absolute (V̇ O2) and relative (V̇ O 2/ kg/min) oxygen use, maximum oxygen intake (VO2max), maximum heart rate (HR), oxygen pulse (V̇ O2/HR), carbon dioxide output (V̇ CO2max), ventilation per minute (VE), and respiratory rate (RR), according mentioned parameters measured on ventilative anaerobic step. Results. Members of the Croatian rowing pair have obtained higher values in the spiroergometric parametres which have been studied in comparison to data published for rowers from other countries. Parameters of anaerobic threshold in the pre-olimpic games and post-olimpic games showed significant statistical differences in even six from seven measured parameters. Conclusion. The results of this study represent important link in the programming of the preparatory period since the obtained data are exact indicators of the preparation level and condition of rowers. The proceeds of study can be of help in a more better and more precise programming of the burdening volume in the training process
