Distribution of phototrophic sulfur bacteria throughout the time scale of the anoxic water renewal in the Rogoznicva Lake

The development of the photosynthetic sulfur bacteria communities was followed un the condition of mass mortality of organisms in Rogoznica lake and in the process of life of life renewal in the lake. The presence of sulfur bacteria has been occured in relatively high concentration throughout the water column right after mass mortality was observed due to the simultaneous establishment of an anoxic zone with increasing H2S concentrations. In the process of life renewal in the lake drastic decrease of sulfur bacteria and, consequently, their changed vertical distribution was observed.
