Stamps of Pansiana type from the Archaeological museum in Split
This presentation discusses the preliminary results of the analysis of tegulae imprinted with the stamp „Pansiana“ stored in the Archaeological Museum in Split. There are 367 examples which were brought to the Museum between 1885 and 1926 by Frane Bulić and Mihović Abramić, and published in „Bullettino di archeologia e storia Dalmata“. The majority of the stamps, 212 of them, come from various locations around the ancient Salona, and date to the reign of Emperor Augustus. This presentation focuses not only on the typology, but also on the distribution of these material and the importance of such findings.
