Preliminary Techno-Economical Analysis of the Advanced PV/Thermal System for the Household Energy Supply
With the constant rise of the quality of life and the population growth, the need for energy and space is growing. Even though Sun as a renewable source is well known and used for a household energy production, electrical and thermal, recent work was focused on increasing the efficiency of electrical energy production by taking away the heat from solar PV collector. That resulted in hybrid collectors for simultaneous production of electrical and thermal energy. In this paper two systems were analyzed: one with separate production of electrical and thermal energy and other using new hybrid collectors. The size of the system was decided upon energy consumption of a single rural household. In order to determine the energy production based on available irradiance a model was built for both systems using Matlab Simulink. Even though PV/T systems are still not very popular, with constant work on their improvement they may become a strong competition for standard renewable systems.
