Seismic Vulnerability of a Historical Building in Tvrdja using Damage Ratio Coefficient
The level of structural damage after an earthquake can often be expressed using the damage ratio (DR) coefficient. The old city core of Osijek, Tvrdja, an eighteenth-century complex of cobbled streets, grandiose buildings and open squares, is the best-preserved ensemble of Baroque buildings anywhere in Croatia. On an example of a selected building from Tvrdja, an effort will be made to predict its level of structural damage using DR coefficient for various earthquakes with different peak ground accelerations defined with time histories.
