Charting new territories: Typology of Social Enterprises in Croatian context

Social entrepreneurship in the Croatian context is in its infancy, in partly marginalized situation by the side of the government agencies and the public. The concept of social entrepreneurship is "imported" from abroad with particularly important role of international organizations.Social entrepreneurship is relatively new concept in the Croatian context, so it is faced with numerous challenges related to political and legal framework, value system, visibility and promotion of social entrepreneurial initiatives and systems of financial support. This paper present a proposal of a typology of social entrepreneurship in the Croatian context.On the basis of the results and typology proposed we will discuss the challenges for the development of social entrepreneurship in Croatia but also what kind of embeddedness does it have in our context.
