Documenting the children's activities and co-constructing the preschool curriculum
The modern tendencies in the perception of the preschool curriculum emphasize the importance of understanding and acknowledging the children. Training the educators to implement ethnographic studies, i.e. to document the educational process, is of major importance in this respect. It enables us to interpret and reinterpret various educational activities and ensure a solid support for the children's learning process. It also represents the basis for the professional development of the educators as it allows direct insight into the extent and the quality of their educational interventions. This work shows the elements of the ethnographic study conducted in three Croatian kindergartens and their contribution to the process of co-construction of the curriculum.
