Analysis of socio-economic indicators in the context of regional development of Eastern Croatia
The main goal of this paper is the analysis of indicators which influence changes in the area of Eastern Croatia, especially the structure of particular economic activities as well as population, which should be basis of regional development in it. Authors have used several demographic and economic indicators to determine the changes: trend in the number of population changes in the last decades, share of industrial and agricultural workers in legal entities, share of employed and unemployed persons in cities and municipalities, as well as inactive population in five Eastern Croatian counties. Also, authors have used agricultural indicators, as agriculture is one of the most important traditional activities in this area. Thereby, it has been attempted to give an overview of the main trends in regional development of this area, although some of the data were unavailable on local level (available only on the county level). All together authors analysed 126 local units within five counties of Eastern Croatia region (22 cities and 104 municipalities).
