High pressure assisted extraction from red grape pomace
The extraction from waste is of great interest since it has been shown that red grape pomace contains a high concentration of bioactive compounds. Red grape pomace as a precious source of bioactive compounds has a high antioxidant potential. It can be classified as a by – product in the industry of wine. Influence of innovative high hydrostatic pressures on the extraction of total flavonoids were studied under following conditions: pressures (300 and 500 MPa) ; extraction time (3 and 10 minutes) ; polarity of solvent (30 and 70 % of ethanol), at room temperature. After the processing results shown a significant increase of yield of bioactive compounds. ANOVA (Analyse of variance), p – value (p<0, 05) indicate a significant influence of polarity of solvent and high hydrostatic pressures on increasing of total flavonoids. Time of extraction has no significant impact on increasing of flavonoid content. Obtained values of β – standardised coefficient indicate a higher influence of polarity of solvent (β = 24.139) than high pressure assisted extraction (β = 3.253).
