O primjeni kompjutora u nastavi kartografije

On application of computers in the study of cartography
Computers have been used in the teaching of cartography at the Faculty of Geodesy of the University of Zagreb since the academic year 1972/73. The UNIVAC 1110 computer of the University Computing Center is available. The use of computers in the teaching of mathematical cartography is described in the article on the example of calculating rectangular coordinates and deformations in azimuthal projections. In in the teaching of cartography the computer is also used in the creation of computer thematic maps. For this purpose, our own programs KOKART and TESTIR are used. KOKART is a program for creating computer maps using the cartogram method, which can classify statistical data into 2-10 classes using seven methods of determining class boundaries. TESTIR is a program for choosing the most favorable method of determining class boundaries according to the Jenks and Coulson criteria.
