Dealing with Ottoman Outlaws from Land and Sea: Case Studies of Dubrovnik (1746-17478)
Border strip of Ragusan mainland was under constant threat of a joint Montenegrin and Vlach incursions and a subject to a sporadic annexation claims of local beys. Ragusan coastline was a regular looting stop for the neighbouring Ulcinj seamen and notorious Tripoli pirates. Described case studies provide an insight into the role of a Bosnian beylerbey and diplomatic efforts employed by the Republic of Dubrovnik.
