In vivo imaging of Toll-Like Receptor 2 (TLR2) expression in the brain after different periods of ischemia and subsequent reperfusion
In the evolution of ischemic brain injury, post-ischemic inflammation, which is associated with the marked induction of Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2), plays an important role. Bioluminescence imaging represents an elegant and ethically acceptable method to elucidate the time dependant TLR2 expression. Preliminary results showed strong induction of the TLR2 promoter in the first 5 days after MCAO with a peak of expression at 48 h reproducing previously established time curve.
