MOTIONAL DYNAMICS OF CD3 GROUP IN L-ALANINE-d7 STUDIED BY CW AND PULSE EPR
The relaxation rates of the so-called the first stable L-alanine radical (HĊCH3R), SAR1 center has been frequently studied by various pulse and nonlinear EPR techniques. These studies reveal that the motional averaging of electron proton hyperfine splitting as well as strong spectral diffusion mechanism are mostly responsible for the numbers of poor understanding of relaxation rate behavior. A detailed microscopic picture of the origin of various relaxation mechanisms can not be easy reconstructed due to significant disagreement in the experimental values of measured parameters such as spin-lattice relaxation time, or rotational correlation time, tau=tauo exp(deltaE/kT) of CH3 group. In order to better understand these relaxation mechanisms we studied dynamic of CD3 group in the completely deuterated L-alanine crystal (L-alanine-d7).
