Transmission System Phase Angle Footprint Based on Synchrophasor Measurements

This paper analyzes the transmission system voltage angle footprint obtained from both the real-time synchrophasor data and the simulations. The simulations are performed on the 400 kV Croatian transmission system. The paper further elaborates the possibilities how to use this type of angle footprint information for both the planning and the realtime operation. In the end, we elaborate the value of knowing the voltage angle to describe system conditions and behavior for both the planning process and the real-time operation.
