Interdisciplinary decision in pregnant women with IUGR
Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) remains one of the main challenges in maternity care. The most widely used definition of IUGR is a fetus whose estimated weight is below the 10th percentile for its gestational age and whose abdominal circumference are below the 2, 5th percentile. The most important problem is that growth failure is often not detected antenatally, in routine clinical practice and many as three-quarters of babies at risk of IUGR are not recognized as such before delivery.
