IMPORTANCE OF STATISTICS IN EVALUATING MEASUREMENTS FOR COMPRESSOR BLADES CYCLIC STRENGTH
Compressor blades of aircraft engines are periodically tested for cyclical strength in the laboratory of the manufacturer or in approved laboratories. The paper presents the results of cyclic strength of the blades produced by the means of two different technologies. The simplified Locati method has been used for testing on electromagnetic shaker. Based on the data obtained by cyclical testing, statistical analysis were performed in order to determine whether the results of measurings are statistically equal or different. Beside calculating basic statistic parameters, test hypothesis on equality of variances and two-way test hypotheses on difference in arithmetic means have been performed. Statistical analysis showed with 95% confidence that technology "06" is significantly better than technology "07".
